Millie Bobby Brown, Glamour’s Woman of the Year and star of the hit Netflix show Stranger Things, is looking at the upcoming end of the series with equanimity. Speaking to the magazine prior to actors’ strike this year, the 19-year-old star likened the conclusion of the show to that of finishing high school.
“When you’re ready, you’re like, ‘All right, let’s do this. Let’s tackle this last senior year. Let’s get out of here’,” said Brown. “Stranger Things takes up a lot of time to film and it’s preventing me from creating stories that I’m passionate about, so I’m ready to say, ‘Thank you, and goodbye’.”
Brown is grateful for the time she has had with the show, noting that it has given her “the tools and the resources to be a better actor”. However, she is ready to move on, as she has plenty of other experiences to occupy her time.
The actress has a production company, which is responsible for the Enola Holmes franchise and a newly published novel; she also owns the beauty line Florence by Mills. Furthermore, Brown is betrothed to Jon Bon Jovi’s son Jake Bongiovi – who is 21. Although many believe they are too young to marry, the couple has reassurance in the loving relationships of their parents, who both married young.
“We were modeled wonderful, loving relationships,” said Brown. “So it’s something that we both had that mutual drive for.”
