Punjab minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer responded to allegations of favouritism after a hotelier accused him of preferential treatment, vowing to resign from politics if former minister Bikram Singh Majithia proved his accusations. In a statement to the media in Amritsar, Hayer stated that during his visit he had eaten at Kulcha Land, not in the hotel room as Majithia had said. He also accused the opposition of concocting stories about the Aam Aadmi Party in response to their supposed lack of genuine claims against the government. Majithia countered Hayer’s defence by questioning why the hotel had been issued a notice of pollution control, which was under Hayer’s jurisdiction.

The SAD leader also requested Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, to confirm his position in providing additional water to Rajasthan and guarantee that the state would not be sending water to Haryana or Delhi.
Gaza War Evacuees Fill Half of Israel’s Hotel Rooms
Due to the increase of hostilities and reserving hotel rooms for those evacuated from the Gaza Strip, approximately half of all hotel rooms in Israel are filled. The Israeli government is funding the cost and so far 28,000 rooms have been occupied, with an additional 27,000 predicted from border towns close to Lebanon. This has caused a decrease in international tourism and many countries have opted to repatriate their citizens, with some airlines suspending their flights to Tel Aviv. The Israeli government is devoting their energy towards offering financial support across the country.
